About the Confrerence
Welcome to the 9th International Conference on Metal-Organic Frameworks and Open Framework Compounds (MOF2024), scheduled to take place from 15th to 19th July 2024, in the dynamic urban hub of Singapore. This conference stands as a testament to the incredible progress in the field of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and other porous materials. The field has flourished, marked by significant advancements in synthesis techniques as well as the discovery of novel materials boasting diverse structures and intrinsic properties. This has given rise to a myriad of applications spanning gas storage and separation, catalytic processes, targeted drug delivery, and precision sensing. Collaborative endeavours across scientific disciplines have been pivotal in driving this rapid evolution. The community is looking for an opportunity to bring researchers, publishers, users, and investors together, and that is what MOF2024 aims for.
The international MOF conference is a series of biannual conferences with a rich history spanning over the past one and a half decades, each building upon the achievements of its predecessors. From the inaugural MOF2008 in Augsburg, Germany, to the more recent editions, such as MOF2022 in Dresden, Germany, and MOF2018 in Auckland, New Zealand. Previously also held in iconic cities like Kobe, Marseille, Long Beach, and Edinburgh, this series of conference has consistently pushed the boundaries of knowledge exchange in the realm of porous materials, cementing itself as a pivotal platform for shaping the future of this field.
We are honoured to organize the 9th edition of this prestigious conference and be given the opportunity to host renowned experts in the field to share their insights, including our special speakers Professor Susumu Kitagawa and Professor Omar Yaghi. Against the backdrop of Singapore’s iconic skyline, MOF2024 provides a unique platform to exchange ideas, connect with fellow researchers, and chart the course for the future of these remarkable framework materials. We extend a warm welcome to all and look forward to an enriching and enlightening conference.
About Materials Research Society of Singapore (MRS-Singapore)
The Materials Research Society of Singapore (MRS-S) was formed in 1999 as a not-for-profit organisation to serve a rapidly emerging materials science community in Singapore. The Society is affiliated with the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS).
Since its inception the focus of MRS-S has been to promote materials science not only to researchers in Singapore, but also to publicise the niche capabilities of local researchers throughout Asia and further afield.
To this end, the Society’s major activity is the organisation of a biennial event – the International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies or ICMAT – that is held in June/July and attracts more than 2,500 delegates from all over the world.
